2nd Annual Maquire State Missions CAKE AUCTION!

Heights Baptist Church held their 2nd Annual Maquire State Missions Cake Auction on September 14, 2025. Bakers entered an impressive 22 baked goods including cakes, cupcakes, pies, cookies and other yummy desserts! The crowd swelled to over 45 eager and hungry bidders that enthusiastically bid for their favorite desert.

The wide range of artistic baking talent revealed everything from Patriotic banana bread to German Chocolate, Chocolate Pound cake, red velvet cake, cupcakes, and holiday themed cookies: each with their own unique and personal designs! One item (Peanut butter pie) was accompanied by a hilarious zoo- themed poem!
After a delicious meal provide by the Women of Grace, the bidding festivities kicked off at $10.00 with Eric Reitman calling the bidding action with Daniel Landrum (acting as Vanna White) carefully lifting and presenting each bid item for all to see.

Some bids were hilariously conducted with multiple enthusiastic clamoring to win their respective favorite. Several cakes went to over $80.00 with the highest bid item clocking in at $90.00!
The fun-filled event raised over $950 for Maquire State Missions (MSM).
The Mission is a vital financial support mechanism for the Florida Baptist Convention, aimed at church planting and revitalization efforts across the state. Established in 1908, the MSM has evolved over the years, focusing on church planting and expanding its reach to include various communities and demographics with 100% of the funds going directly to these initiatives.
